LATISSE - WANT LONGER EYELASHES?

I picked up some Latisse at my favorite place for "Beauty", Riviera Laser Studio, in Dana Point,

Ca. And, for those of you that are wondering, NO, they don't pay me and I am not affilated with them in anyway. My hair stylist, Jamie at Saloon Bamboo in San Clemente recommended them and I have been so impressed with their professionalism and the great job they do, it became easy to incorporate them in my blogs.

This is week one of testing the new FDA approved product called Latisse. Latisse is the only product approved by the FDA for the purpose of growing longer eyelashes. I have to admit that for some reason, after my Laser Peel a year ago, my eyelashes grew, leaving me with longer lashes than I have ever had. However, they were still not as long and full as I would prefer. So with that in mind -- here goes -- Let's just see how long they get with Latisse. As usual, I will be taking pictures and blogging for the next few weeks. MORE LIP ENHANCEMENT AND FILLER FOR TERRY

FEBRUARY 2009.
Up at 7:00 to get ready for Terry's big day at Riviera Laser Studio for more procedures.  It's been 5 months since Terry had her Laser Peel, Lip Enhancement and Fillers(picture on left).  In my opinion, she looks great for 63 years old.  Terry was so pleased with the results of her Lip Enhancement and Fillers that she is having the permanent filler, ArteFil injected today.

Back from Vegas -- Terry has Arrived

We got back from Las Vegas yesterday.  I played the Buffet Tables for three days and had a net gain of 6 lbs.  Tomorrow Terry is going in to Riviera Laser to have some more filler and lip enhancement.  I will take pictures of her for the before and after and follow her progress.

FEBRUARY 2008

One year ago I looked in the mirror and to my shock I saw my mom. Now, my mom was a very attractive women who grew old gracefully and lived a long healthy life to the ripe old age of 84. However, I was just not ready to grow old gracefully or look like my mom! Call me vain, call me a spoiled Baby Boomer, call me a typical Orange County Housewife -- I don't care!! -- I'm going down fighting. So after checking out several options, and rejecting anything that had to do with peeling my face back with a knife, general anesthesia, or stitches, I decided to try a Micropixel HD Fractional laser procedure.

In August, when my husband went on his annual pilgrimage to Carmel, Ca for the Antique Car Show, I went to Riviera Laser Studios - http://www.rivieralaser.com/ located in Dana Point! My thought was by the time he returned home he would just think I had a sunburn. Not a good plan! I checked in early, got my drugs and went to sleep. When I woke up my face was slightly red and covered with cream. No problem! Went home, locked myself in the bedroom and prayed that no one would come to the door for the next 7 days. For the first time in 32 years, he came home early. By the time he got home, I looked like a nicely basted Thanksgiving Turkey well done! As he stood there, shaking his head back and forth saying "What Have You Done Now!", I assured him I was in no pain and he would be very happy in about another week.

Although the pictures look very scary, I have to say there was little to no pain! I took 2 pain pills the first 2 nights just to insure a good nights sleep and used ice packs for swelling and pain. Overall, I'm very happy with the results -- and so is Bob!

My daughter (38 yrs. old) and I were out shopping and someone asked me if I was her older sister!!! Now that says it all -- I rest my case!

Dr. Kofford at "Riviera Laser Studio", in Dana Point did the procedure. He was so happy with the results that he used my before and after pictures on his marketing brochure and blog site. If any of you girls (or guys) are thinking about having this done, I will be discussing the ups and downs on this blog site.

I decided on the CO2 Fractional after doing my research. The reasons for the CO2 Laser were -- Newest Technology, Faster Healing, Less Downtime, Less Chance of Infection, Out Patient Procedure done in Office, and did I mention the Pain. The pain was minimal and manageable -- kind of like a bad sunburn for about 3 days. Another reason is that the doctor can do different intensity for different areas of the face. For example, my neck was done light, my eye area intense, check area medium.

11-22-07: I'm getting some great feedback on my Laser Procedure Blog (well, mostly!), so I thought it might be fun to continue with other cosmetic stuff! My friend Terry will probably kill me, but she will be my next case study. She is Hard Core Nip & Tuck! I'll probably call it "Your So Vain, You Probably Think This Blog is About You"!

I will be discussing the ups and downs of this procedure on this blog site. I will also be discussing other products and procedures that I have tried (or someone I know has tried) and giving you my objective and honest opinion of how it worked for me.

Check back often for updates and new blogs about various procedures and products. I will also try and give you the approximate cost and tips on where to find the best value for the money.

JUNE 2008: It's been approximately 9 months since I had my laser peel. I am still very happy with the results. I continue to get compliments on my skin and how much younger I look.

I have decided that I will go back for a little touch up around my eye area. I am also going to have some filler injected around my mouth area. It is scheduled for July 1st. I will be taking pictures and posting so be sure to check back.

September 21, 2008 -- Terry has Arrived

Well, I got up early this morning and around 9:00 a.m. I headed to San Diego to pick up my friend Terry at the airport. If you have been following my blog, you know Terry as my friend from Michigan.

After a nice day at Old Town Plaza, having a light lunch at Little Italy, and a nice stop at the warf to view the Midway, I headed over to Sky Harbor to pick up Terry. There she was, waiting on the curb with her little suitcase smoking a cigarette. Terry had a Life Style Lift in August of 2007 so she really doesn't have a major wrinkle problem, but she decided to have a Laser Peel and some filler (Sculptra) along with Lip Enhancement. The Lip Enhancement scares me!!! We will just have to wait and see!!! If you haven't already -- be sure to read my blog on Yours So Vain, and Why I'm Friends with Terry, it will explain a lot.
